Memcached in Hosting
You can use the Memcached distributed memory caching system with all Linux hosting packages that we’re offering. It is available as an upgrade, which you can obtain with only a few clicks through your Hepsia hosting Control Panel. It requires a PHP extension, which is already installed on our cloud website hosting platform, so you can start using the Memcached caching system as soon as you order it. The upgrade is separated into two parts, which will give you more freedom depending on the websites that you would like to use it for. The first one defines the number of the sites that will use Memcached, or the ‘instances’, while the second one is related to the system memory, in other words – to how much content the system will be able to cache. You can get more memory in increments of 16 megabytes and the more memory you have, the more content will be cached, which may be a good idea for traffic-heavy sites with large databases and many simultaneous visitors. In this way, you can boost the overall performance of every script-based website hosted on our servers with no effort.
Memcached in Semi-dedicated Hosting
You can get the Memcached object caching system as an optional upgrade with all our Linux semi-dedicated hosting and since it works with any script-based web application, you can use it for each website that you host on our semi-dedicated servers, irrespective of what application you have used – WordPress, Mambo or Joomla™, a custom-developed app, etc. You can add the upgrade through the respective section of the Hepsia Control Panel from which you administer your semi-dedicated account, and you can select two separate things – the number of instances and the amount of memory that they will use. To put it in simple terms, these things define the number of the sites that will use Memcached and how much system memory the system will be able to use to cache your data. The two features are offered independently for more flexibility and one instance does not come with a pre-defined amount of system memory. You can take advantage of Memcached with any type of site and both you and your website visitors will quickly notice the difference in the overall performance.
Memcached in VPS
If you order a virtual private server from us, you’ll be able to use Memcached at no additional cost, as the memory caching platform is offered with all servers that are ordered with the Hepsia Control Panel. Even if you manage resource-requiring sites, you will be able to optimize their performance with no effort and the lowered server load will enable you to keep using your current plan rather than switching to a more powerful one. The amount of memory that the Memcached platform can use to store data depends on the package that you are using, but even with a lower-end one, you will have at least several hundred megabytes, which is significantly more than what you’d get with a shared hosting package, so the website performance boost will be considerable. You can take advantage of the Memcached platform with any database-powered app, regardless of whether you have developed it yourself or you’re using a ready-for-use one such as WordPress, Joomla™ or OpenCart.
Memcached in Dedicated Hosting
If you order one of our Linux dedicated hosting and if you select Hepsia as your web hosting Control Panel during the signup process, you will get the Memcached memory caching platform by default and you can enable it for any Internet site that you host on the server without installing or upgrading anything. It will start storing information as users open your Internet site, so you’ll notice the effect of using it shortly thereafter. The minimum amount of system memory that will be available to the Memcached caching platform is 3 gigabytes and naturally, the more powerful the dedicated plan, the more system memory Memcached will have at its disposal. This amount will enable you to take advantage of the platform for a lot of websites or for a very large website without weakening its efficacy. Memcached will allow you to increase the loading speed of any database-powered Internet site very quickly – a Joomla™ portal, a WordPress weblog, an OpenCart e-store, etcetera, and to improve the overall performance of your server.
